My name is Mark A. Deasty. Growing up in small town BC I learned early about hard work and the value of good personal skills. The best advertising you can have is a happy client. I believe that and continue to foster that attitude in all my work.

I am a graduated Architectural Technologist from BCIT. I have very much enjoyed learning the processes and methods of several excellent designers here in Calgary, but now that I have been in the industry a number of years, I have developed my own style and process. This process has become smoother and more polished with each project I take on. The various clientele and situations I have worked in have taught me a lot about my interpersonal skills, and what it takes to balance the clients wants and desires with good, intelligent, and unique design. I strive to be conscious of everything in my work, from aesthetics, to construction, to functionality, so that the end product will not only be pleasing to momentary passer by admired continuously by the end user.

One of my more recently developed, and honed, skills is that of 3D modeling and presentation. Autodesk Revit, my software of choice, has helped my immensely in developing my visualization skills, in the context of both design and construction. With this tool I am able to see where and how it is best to show the client what the design is truly about. I really enjoy being able to put something together that is functional in plan, then, with the click of a button, can take the client inside the project and give them the esthetic ‘Wow’ that everyone wants.

In the end, I strive hard to be a co-operative, yet aware designer. Allowing the client to express their input and feedback into and about the design, while being able maintain a design that is still construction, function, and esthetically conscious.
